ABOUT FILIP

Filip Babić is a classical guitarist whose artistic journey has led him across Europe. He has developed a rich and diverse musical background, sharing his passion for the instrument in countries such as Slovakia, Austria, Poland, Serbia, Norway and Finland.

Filip has distinguished himself in over 20 international guitar competitions, earning top prizes and laureate honours. In the 2024/2025 season, he performed as a soloist with the Slovak Philharmonic, presenting Manuel María Ponce’s Concierto del Sur, which marks a notable occasion as it highlights the rare opportunity for the orchestra to feature classical guitar as a solo instrument.

Throughout his education, Filip has participated in masterclasses with respected figures in the classical guitar world, including Sergio Assad, Zoran Dukić, Aniello Desiderio, Dušan Bogdanović, Hubert Käppel, and Carlo Marchione, among others.

In 2024, Filip completed his classical guitar performance studies under Prof. Karol Samuelčík at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. He also broadened his education through the Erasmus+ program, studying at mdw (University of Music and Performing Arts) in Vienna with Prof. Alexander Swete, and in Poland at the Music Academy in Kraków with Prof. Michał Nagy and Prof. Ewa Jabłczyńska.

In addition to his performing career, Filip is actively engaged in the classical guitar community. Since 2018, he has been a member of the organising board of the Guitar Art Festival in Belgrade, where he has held various roles, including the masterclass and competition manager. Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Arts Management and Creative Entrepreneurship at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Filip combines his dedication to performance with a commitment to enhancing a more diverse and sustainable arts environment.

2015

Secondary music education

In the same class and the same school (Dr Vojislav Vučković in Belgrade), I continued my secondary music education.

During this period, I won some important prizes such as Laureates at the Naissus Guitar Fest (Niš, Serbia) and Vojvodina Guitar Fest (Novi Sad, Serbia), as well as first and second prizes on international guitar competitions in Serbia.

Four years passed by, during which I learned so much. My biggest thanks goes to Milkica, my teacher from day one.

Guitar Art Festival

As of 2018, I have been in the management team of one of the biggest guitar festivals in the world - Guitar Art Festival in Belgrade, Serbia. This is where I figured out my second passion - the organisation of cultural events.

BUT

THAT'S NOT ALL

Everyone has various interests,

and apart from the guitar, my great passions and points of interest include cultural management, which I have previously mentioned, and design - the website you're browsing now was made by me. I also enjoy travelling, exploring new cultures and lifestyles, as well as learning new languages.
